Video: Strange pink smoke rises from ground after Oman’s floods

A video circulating on social media has captured a peculiar sight in Oman, where a hole emits pink smoke. The footage features a voice remarking on the appearance of the unusual phenomenon following heavy rains in the region.

In the video, the hole can be seen emitting pink smoke without any apparent human intervention.

Oman recently faced severe rainfall, leading to flash floods that prompted authorities to suspend educational and professional activities. The sudden inundation resulted in significant losses, with authorities reporting the tragic death toll of at least 18 individuals.

According to the National Emergency Management Committee in Oman, among the casualties were approximately 10 students who were swept away by floodwaters along with an adult.

Responding to the video circulating on social media, the Environmental Agency in Oman issued a statement addressing the concerns raised by the public.

The statement, released on Wednesday, explained that the observed phenomenon was attributed to a fault and leakage in an underground electrical line, as confirmed by environmental experts in the Interior Governorate.
