The Syrian-Turkish border towards prosperity again

Observers agree that the return of Turkish-Syrian relations and the success of the talks will reflect positively on the Syrian and Turkish peoples and prevent terrorism and the regular military forces that occupy parts of it from the region, in addition to the economic prosperity that will appear clearly in the interest of all.

It is no secret that the tension of Turkish-Syrian relations with the outbreak of the revolution against the Assad regime has shuffled the cards and pushed the region to tension. Its negative results did not stop at the borders of the two countries, but rather it exploded in most countries of the world, especially Europe.

It is feasible at the present time, despite the delay in time and decision, to search for rational solutions, to move away from entrenchment in ossified positions, to rebuild what the war destroyed politically and economically, and to re-disseminate the culture of cooperation and friendship. The Turkish-Syrian border is long and cannot be crossed, and it is possible to return to its development and open the crossings for cooperation instead of smuggling, infiltration and bombing.

The return of the Syrian-Turkish negotiations as a prelude to the return of relations between the two parties is in the interest of the two peoples and the two regimes. The negotiations support the Turkish president in the upcoming presidential elections and deprive the Americans of the accession of the pro-Syrian opposition to power in Turkey. The Syrian president has opened new horizons for relations and a wide gateway in contacts with an important and large European country and a member of NATO with him.

In the event that the Turkish opposition comes to power, it will not abide by what it pledged to the Syrian president, who is one of its friends and was in contact with him throughout the crisis phase. Rather, it will return to the chaos of American politics and interests and NATO’s orientations calling for the American forces to remain occupied in northeastern Syria, putting pressure on Damascus and the Syrian people and committing to With the laws and penalties of Caesar and the tightening of the siege on this country, in addition to realizing the efforts of Washington and Israel to divide Syria.

Before the Syrian revolution, the borders and neighboring cities were economically and financially prosperous. Openness and the flow of materials and goods through it brought hundreds of millions of people, and joint projects and institutions were established, before they were destroyed and workers were expelled to Turkey and to the bottom of the Mediterranean.

What is happening on the Damascus-Ankara line will constitute a very important strategic shift. It is important for Arab countries, especially Gulf countries, to join this ranks, review their positions, overcome non-objective obstacles, and communicate with the Syrian regime, similar to the Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman, especially after the failure of the war policy supported by those countries. Over the course of a decade, during which billions were pumped, and equipment and weapons were consumed, killing hundreds of thousands of Syrians.
