Disney increases security for Gal Gadot amid death threats over Israel-Hamas stance

According to reports, Disney increased the number of security personnel for “Snow White” actress Gal Gadot after she was threatened with death for her pro-Israeli views during the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Variety said on Tuesday that after her co-star Rachel Zegler openly expressed her support for Palestine last year while promoting the live-action musical, the actress was inundated with hate mail.
An insider told the magazine, “[Zegler] didn’t understand the repercussions of her actions as far as what that meant for the film, for Gal, or for anyone.”
Zegler, 23, thanked fans on X in August 2024 for helping the initial “Snow White” teaser garner 120 million views in a single day.
“And always remember, free Palestine” was how she concluded her post.
While some people criticized the actress for promoting the Disney movie alongside her political views, others apparently lashed out against Gadot, 39, when the “West Side Story” star’s tweet received 8.9 views.
The Israeli actress expressed her support for her homeland in October 2023 following a horrific attack at the Nova Music Festival by Hamas.
At the time, the “Red Notice” star posted on Instagram, saying, “I stand with Israel; you should too.” “When these terrible acts of terror are occurring, the world cannot remain silent!”
Page Six was unable to reach Gadot representatives for comment at this time.
After protesters disrupted Gadot’s Hollywood Walk of Fame event earlier this month, she defended her choice to support Israel.
“People find it difficult to express themselves on social media due to the abundance of hate speech, bots, and irate individuals seeking a cause,” she told Variety.
“I don’t talk politics after October 7th, [2023] because, really, who gives a damn about the celebrity discussing politics? I’m an artist. I aim to amuse people. Every time I speak about the world, I want to inspire optimism and serve as a lighthouse.

“However, I was unable to remain silent on October 7th when people were kidnapped from their homes and beds, and men, women, children, the elderly, and Holocaust survivors were experiencing the horrors of that day.”
Gadot acknowledged that she was “shocked by the amount of hate” she received and “by the amount of individuals who believe they know when they don’t know.”
At her March 18 Walk of Fame event, the “Wonder Woman” actress faced additional criticism.
