A brief on Oshi no Ko

Prime Video: Oshi No Ko - Season 1

Oshi no Ko first started as a manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari which garnered enough readers to inspire an anime by Doga Kobo studio and caused quite a ruckus among anime fans worldwide as the anime topped many streaming platforms in views and ratings!

Fun fact: The Oshi no Ko anime was once the highest-rated show on My Anime List! It still holds up on the list but has been dethroned by many others with Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End currently on top.

The show is unique for mixing the entertainment industry in Japan, reincarnation, and mystery all put together in a beautifully drawn animated series (It’s all thanks to the beautifully drawn eyes) by Doga Kobo studio.

Yen Press describes the manga as follows:

“Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).”
