Just when GTA 6 fans took to social media platforms in excitement for a possible leak of gameplay footage, the individual responsible for the clip in question confirmed that the content was fake and was made using Unreal Engine 5 to trick gamers.

An individual that goes by the name ‘Long Long Time’ took to their Discord account (a voice-chat service used mainly by gamers worldwide), and added they worked hard on the fake leaked clip for a month using Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 to trick GTA 6 fans.

This all comes in anticipation of what Rockstar has been cooking in its studios for one of the most anticipated games to come out between 2025 and 2026.

Despite working on it for a month, it’s proven to have become easier to make games look realistic thanks to Unreal Engine 5. The game engine has always been popular, but its recent update has allowed even indie developers with smaller teams the chance to create stunning realistic titles using its technology.

At first, when it leaked, people were skeptical about it with some debating if the footage had a connection to the September 2022 build which leaked across the internet showcasing gameplay.

Adding to the speculations, fans noticed that the leaked footage used a real-life location which Rockstar tends to do in its games, adding solidity to the fake leak.
