Spider-Man 2 is Insomniac’s highest rated game!
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 received its first batch of reviews on Monday, Oct. 17, 2023, and things are looking awesome for Insomniac’s newest PlayStation 5 exclusive!
The game is now considered one of Insomniac’s highest-rated games, according to Metacritic with some reviewers calling it the “greatest superhero game ever made.”
Spider-Man 2 has garnered a score of 91/100, based on 120 reviews from Metacritic critics. This makes it Insomniac’s highest rated after a fact-check from VGC.

Spyro: Year of the Dragon and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal both garnered a similar score to Insomniac’s newest game. These games are considered cult classics for PlayStation users for their adorable characters and great gameplay.
The first Spider-Man game which recently received a PC port currently sits on 87 while the Miles Morales spin-off received a score of 84. We believe Miles Morales should have been a DLC for its short playtime which contributed to its lower score.
Both Miles and Peter are making a comeback as playable characters in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with the addition of upgraded gameplay mechanics, a new wingsuit, and more villains!
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will hit PlayStation 5 consoles exclusively on Oct. 20, 2023!
