2024 Grammy nomination list: SZA leads with 9 noms

The long-awaited list of 2024 Grammy nominations has been officially announced, with SZA landing at the very top with 9 nominations followed by Phoebe Bridgers with 7 noms,  Miley Cyrus with 6, and Taylor Swift 6.

In a live stream featuring Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. as well as some special guests, the nominations were announced from the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles.

Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording are the three new categories that will be included in the 66th GRAMMY Awards, which were announced earlier this year.

Furthermore, the Grammys are shifting two categories to the General Field, where all voters will be able to cast votes: Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, and Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical.

The Academy released a statement that read: “By introducing these three new categories, we are able to acknowledge and appreciate a broader array of artists – and relocating the Producer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year Categories to the General Field ensures that all our voters can participate in recognizing excellence in these fields,”.

“We are excited to honor and celebrate the creators and recordings in these Categories, while also exposing a wider range of music to fans worldwide”.
