Netflix reveals Pluto final trailer and new visual

Netflix revealed the final trailer for Pluto on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023, with the addition of a new visual for the anime.

Pluto is an anime adaptation of Naoki Urasawa’s manga that goes by the same name which was serialized in Shogakukan Seinin Magazine from 2003 to 2009 accumulating eight volumes in total.

It’s a relief to see one of the most beloved manga receiving a 2D anime adaptation rather than Netflix’s typical go-to, 3D which we believe is done to save money on production costs.

Studio M2, the animation studio behind Pluto is a relatively new studio in the industry but the final trailer looks visually stunning!

Pluto took inspiration from the godfather of manga himself, Osamu Tezuka since Naoki Urasawa said that the comic was written and illustrated in honor of the 50th anniversary of Astro Boy.

The anime will be set in a sci-fi world where humanoid robots exist and pass as humans and a mysterious entity out there to destroy the seven great robots of the world.

Follow Europol’s top detective Gesicht as he is given the task of investigating the mysterious robot deaths however, he has no idea that he is also being targeted.

Pluto will be exclusive to Netflix subscribers and will get eight 60-minute episodes in total.

Watch it on Netflix here.
