Woman in France dies after tragic fairground ride accident
Over the weekend, a tragic accident took place on a fairground ride at a traveling fair in Blois, central France, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old woman. Reports from officials and local media shed more light on the shocking event.
Despite being sent to the hospital right away, the woman passed away due to her injuries after being thrown from a fairground ride late on Saturday evening, according to city authorities. Following the accident, the owner and operator of the ride were taken into custody, with his detention extended overnight by Blois prosecutor, Charlotte Beluet.
Investigations suggest that the woman had taken all standard safety measures, even the use of a barrier designed to secure passengers on board.

Authorities are currently examining the ride and reviewing footage of the incident, captured by a bystander, to get a better idea of how things went down.
The attraction, themed around the NFL American football league, had a large replica ball at its center, with spinning passenger cars accommodating two to three people each, as reported by local daily Nouvelle Republique.
In response to the tragedy, the entire fair was shut down on Sunday, ending its long three-week run in Blois, confirmed city hall. The unfortunate accident has raised some concerns about fairground safety in France, as several similar accidents also took place in recent years. In August, a teenager lost his life in Cap d’Agde, while another fatality took place in Saintes in June.
