Turkish channel Star TV has released the first promo of episode 39 for the hit Turkish series Yalı Çapkını (translated to: The Kingfisher), scheduled to be aired next Friday on September 29 at 8:00 pm Turkey time.
Kaya Islamic prayer scene sparks controversy
Episode 39 of Yalı Çapkını has revealed even more conflicts after Halis Ağa’s grandson Kaya (played by Turkish actor Taro Emir Tekin), moved to the palace and its residents rejected this move intially done by palace master Halis Ağa (played by Turkish actor Çetin Tekindor) to take revenge on them.
During the promo, Kaya was seen performing the Islamic prayer. This scene in particular was taken out and widely circulated on social media.
Some viewers wondered about the secret of showing Kaya praying, especially since he was portrayed as a reckless and irresponsible young man when he made a debut in the show, which it sparked the audience’s enthusiasm waiting for the next episode and the development of his character.
Is Taro Emir Tekin replacing Mert Ramazan Demir in Yalı Çapkını?
Episode 38 greatly highlighted the character of Kaya, the new grandson for Halis Ağa’s family, and some saw that the character may carry many developments and become essential in the series.
Speculation increased by the circulation of many pictures outside of filming, in which Taro Emir Tekin was present with the star of the show Afra Saraçoğlu who plays Seyran, indicating that there might be there many scenes that will bring them together.
A group of viewers speculated that producers may develop a relationship between Kaya and Suna, played by Turkish actress Beril Pozam, which might cause the role of Abidin (played by Turkish actor Ersin Arici) to be reduced.
Vieweres have been wondering whether the new developments intend to shed light on Kaya’s character, and reduce the role of Ferit (Mert Ramazan Demir), which sparked a state of anger given the great popularity that Mert Ramazan Demir enjoys in the show.
