5 Best games in 2024 so far
1) Final Fantasy VII Rebirth [PlayStation 5 Exclusive]
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a game that is bigger, better, and more engaging than its predecessor in every way possible!
We were not joking when we said 2024 is the year of JRPGs, this list’s got three of them but the best one in our eyes has to be Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for its compelling storyline, stunning graphics, and engaging gameplay elements which were all improved on by Square-Enix from its predecessor under the name of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The game goes into detail on who Sephiroth is and how Cloud is linked to him while also continuing the journey of Avalanche against Shinra in a vast and stunning world.
2) Persona 3 Reload [Playstation 5, Xbox, PC]
A remake of one of Atlus’ most beloved games.
Persona 3 Reload is a remake of its 2006 version but Atlus has improved on everything including graphics, stunning character designs, and a beautiful soundtrack adding to the already beloved game.
By far, this game is the edgiest out of all Personas simply because the characters shoot themselves in the head to activate their powers!
3) Helldivers 2 [PlayStation 5, PC]
Helldivers 2 is the best hoard shooter since Valve’s Left 4 Dead.
Sweet Liberty my arm! This game is the most fun we’ve had in a hoard shooter since Deep Rock Galactic. It’s so good that we sank 70 hours since launch and it’s such a blast to play whether you’re soloing or playing with friends.
What makes Helldivers 2 so special?
- The cinematic gameplay while diving through hoards of bugs or automatons.
- Calling stratagems feels like activating a cheat from GTA
- Hillarious ragdoll physics after a bug sends you flying to another side of the map
- You can call a freaking mecha to destroy everything in your way including filthy bugs and automatons!
- Liber-tea!
4) Granblue Fantasy: Relink
A game that mixes anime with Monster Hunter.
If you love anime and like fighting massive monsters with friends or a party of stylish and badass heroes, then Granblue Fantasy: Relink is your next title.
Despite its story being short and mostly uninteresting, the game makes up for it with its stunning graphics, beautifully drawn and modeled characters, smooth gameplay, and addictive yet grindy replayability. The game is still receiving updates with its recent addition being a new boss fight.
Cygames also promised more characters in the future.
5) Tekken 8
The beloved and competitive fighting game makes a comeback.
Tekken finally made a comeback with Tekken 8 since its seventh installment which was released in 2015! the sequel received better graphical fidelity for both the map and its characters thanks to Unreal Engine 5 and Bandai.
It also received three new characters Azucena, Victor, and Reina who all have unique abilities and improved on gameplay and UI elements. All in all, it’s just Tekken 7 but better!
