Video: Man fails to raise Israeli flag and falls off stage during Coldplay concert
Controversial Israeli comedian Guy Hochman went viral across social media after trying to raise Israel’s flag during a Coldplay concert but failing to do so as he fell off with a couple of light signs with him.
The video in question triggered a swarm of comments from pro-Palestine and human rights activists as they mocked the individual and stated that whatever happened to him was “karma” for trying to raise an “Occupying settler’s flag.”

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin immediately stopped the show after witnessing the event and bent down to check on Hochman who fell after trying to climb on stage with the Israeli flag to raise it.
Guy Hochman is known for going to concerts and raising the Israeli flag at such events. The Coldplay concert took place in Athens, Greece on Jun. 9, 2024.
According to The Independent, Hochman’s main objective of trying to raise the Israeli flag during the concert was due to Martin’s recent comments about the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza which resulted in the killing of at least 37,000 Palestinians since Oct. 7, 2023.
During their concert in Tokyo last November, Martin said that there are “so many terrible things happening” and that “most people on Earth are full of love and full of kindness, compassion.”
He added, “We don’t believe in oppression, or occupation, terrorism or genocide, nothing like that.”
After the incident, a man was heard in the video shouting “Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop,” trying to alert Martin about Hochman. The crew noticed and alerted Martin to stop the show who also tried to assist Hochman with the help of guitarist Johnny Buckland.
