Olivia Rodrigo rocks Palestinian tatreez dress at Daisy Chain Fields Festival

American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo kicked off the Daisy Chain Fields Festival wearing a stunning Palestinian tatreez dress to show her solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. 

The renowned singer joined other celebrities, including American-Palestinian model Bella Hadid, Canadian-Jordanian actress Saja Kilani, and Australian actress Cate Blanchett.

According to Khaleej Times, Rodrigo, a Grammy winner, wore a handmade pale pink mini dress by Palestinian fashion label Nöl Collective, featuring doves in darker pink and daisy chains in the style of the traditional Palestinian art of “tatreez” (embroidery in Arabic). She wore the handmade dress during a press presentation before the festival at Great Park in Irvine, California.

According to Variety, Rodrigo allocated a whopping $10 million from the festival’s earnings and is set to donate the funds to women-led and female-focused nonprofit organizations, including Baby2Baby, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and Planned Parenthood.

The singer has previously voiced her solidarity with Gaza and Palestine through social media. She wrote via Instagram stories following a donation link:

“There are no words to describe the heartbreak I feel witnessing the devastation that is being inflicted upon innocent people in Palestine. mothers, fathers, and children in gaza are starving, dehydrated, and being denied access to basic medical care and humanitarian aid. There is no child in Israel, Palestine, or anywhere in the world who deserves to suffer through what we’re seeing these children have to endure.”

She added, “It is horrific and completely unacceptable. to give up on them is to give up on our shared humanity. I have made a donation to @unicef to help support the victims of this horrifying situation and encourage you to do the same if you have the means.”
