Nigerian conjoined twins travel to Saudi Arabia for potential separation

A Nigerian conjoined twins travelled to Saudi Arabia on Monday where they will undergo examinations by specialized doctors to explore the possibility of their separation as part of an initiative directed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) announced.

The Saudi defense ministry’s medical evacuation aircraft flew the twins, Hassana and Hussaina, and their parents to the Kingdom. They were then transported to King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital to assess their condition and explore the possibility of separating them, SPA said.

The Supervisor General of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, and the head of the medical team, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, expressed his appreciation to the Kingdom for its unwavering support of the Saudi program for separating conjoined twins and humanitarian efforts in general, SPA added.

According to SPA, the parents of the Nigerian twins have also expressed their profound gratitude to the Crown Prince for the warm welcome and generous hospitality they have received since their arrival in the Kingdom.
