‘Let’s Play’ Webtoon receives new anime!

Let’s Play author, Leeanne M. Krecic (also known as Mongie) revealed on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, that their Webtoon will be receiving a TV anime by studio OLM at New York Comic-Con 2023.

Let’s Play was first published on Korea’s web-comic platform, Webtoon in 2016 which came to an end with its third season in 2018 for numerous reasons including issues with the marketing of the series, and payment differences.

OLM Inc. is known for numerous great anime, including the wholesome romance-comedy Komi-San Can’t Communicate, the suspenseful drama, Summertime Rendering, and the underrated gem, Odd Taxi.

A change in web-comic platforms

Mongie announced that the Webtoon will return in the fall of 2025 with a web-comic platform change although they have not specified which platform will be covering the series yet.

Rocketship Entertainment is releasing the comic in English with the third collective volume already out on June 27, 2023.

Synopsis:

Let’s Play tells the story of a single young indie game developer who was about to achieve her dream of creating video games. Life throws her a curveball after a popular streamer gives her first game a horrible review.

To her surprise, she finds out that the streamer is her new neighbor! A funny, romantic story about games, memes, and social anxiety.
