Fortnite leak reveals Metal Gear Solid Snake and Family Guy Peter Griffin skins
Fortnite fans are in for a treat as the next season of the popular battle royale game will feature some iconic characters including Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake and Family Guy’s Peter Griffin.
According to a leak from Epic Games and Xbox, Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 1, dubbed Underground, will introduce Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake and Family Guy’s Peter Griffin as playable skins.
The leak was shared by ShiinaBR, a well-known Fortnite news and leaks account on Twitter, who posted an image of an advertisement that appeared on the Xbox Store. The image shows Solid Snake in his classic sneaking suit, which is a homage to the original Metal Gear Solid game that was released in 1998. The image also shows Peter Griffin in a tuxedo, which is a reference to one of the episodes of Family Guy where he becomes a spy. Both characters stand out among the other skins in the image, which include a ninja, a pirate, a cowboy, and a robot.
The leak comes at a convenient time for Metal Gear Solid fans, as the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which includes remastered versions of the first three games in the series, is set to launch soon. Fortnite has a history of releasing variant skins for its crossover characters, so it is possible that fans will also get to see other versions of Solid Snake, such as Big Boss or old Solid Snake, in the game.
Peter Griffin, on the other hand, has been a long-rumored character to join Fortnite, as Family Guy is one of the most popular animated sitcoms in the world. His 2D cartoon art style contrasts with the 3D graphics of Fortnite, which could make him a unique and humorous addition to the game. It is unclear if he will have any special abilities or emotes, but fans can expect some hilarious interactions with other characters.
Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 1, Underground, will have a lot to live up to, as the previous season, the OG Update, was a huge success that attracted 44.7 million players in a single day, breaking the record for the most concurrent players in Fortnite’s history. The OG Update brought back some of the most beloved features and locations from the earlier seasons of Fortnite, such as Tilted Towers, Dusty Depot, and the original map.
However, the OG Update also faced some controversy, as Epic Games implemented and then disabled age restricted cosmetics, which were skins that could only be purchased by players who were 18 years or older. Many players criticized this decision, as they felt that it was unfair and unnecessary, and that it went against the spirit of Fortnite as a game for everyone. Epic Games apologized for the mistake and said that they would not repeat it in the future.
The current season of Fortnite will end with a spectacular in-game live event called The Big Bang, which will feature the rap superstar Eminem as a guest performer.
The event will take place on December 2, 2023 at 2pm ET, and it will mark the transition to the next season, Underground.
