Emma Stone embraces her real name
Emma Stone expressed her desire to stop using a pseudonym and take on her own name in April.
The performer revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that she was originally Emily, but changed her name because Emily Stone was already being used by another actor.
Ever since then, everyone has called her Emma, but she just chose to go back to her real name. “I felt like, ‘I can’t do it anymore.'” “Just call me Emily,” she clarified to THR. In addition, she said that when she “gets to know them,” people at work start calling her Emily.
Today, at Emma’s forthcoming film Kinds of Kindness press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, a reporter mistakenly addressed her by her first name.
When the reporter mentioned that, Emma’s expression brightened up. Her co-star, director Yorgos Lanthimos, felt the need to correct the journalist after realizing they had mangled her name. Emma, however, reassured Yorgos that the reporter had really been accurate. “Hello, I’m Emily. “I am grateful,” she murmured with a wink. “Very nice.”
Online users gushed over it, calling it “Well, that’s just wholesome!” as one Reddit user put it.
“She’s ‘Emily’ to me from here on out,” one person commented, while another concurred, adding, “That’s actually adorable though.”
