Dr. Ashraf Zaki denies knowledge of Egyptian actor Michael Iskander amidst controversy over Israeli series role
Dr. Ashraf Zaki, Head of the Syndicate of Acting Professions, responded to rumors of young Egyptian actor Michael Iskander appearing in an Israeli serial called “The House of David,” in which several Israeli actors participated.
In remarks to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Ashraf Zaki said: “I have never seen this young guy before, and I do not know who he is. He has very little interaction with the union and is not obligated to do so.
Israeli publications revealed the involvement of Egyptian actor Michael Iskander in a prominent role in the Israeli series “The House of David,” set to debut on an American digital platform soon.
The publications clarified that, along with many Israeli performers, Michael Alexander would be portraying the Prophet David.
Michael Iskander, a 22-year-old young actor, acknowledged in press releases that while he resides overseas, he is an Egyptian citizen.
Born in Egypt, Michael Iskander left his birthplace with his family at nine years old, traveling to the United States of America. Currently 22 years old, he excels in guitar and keyboard playing, song composition, and stage acting. He has also been very honored.
