Did Taylor Swift say Los Angeles fires are ‘divine retribution’ over Gaza war?

A clip of American singer Taylor Swift has shocked her fans after the pop star was reportedly heard talking about the fires in Los Angeles, California and linking them with the war in Gaza.

A clip circulated on social media where Taylor was allegedly saying: “Israel burns Gaza for a year and a half with missiles funded by American taxpayers. Only for God’s punishment to strike the US in just two days.”

The American star continues in the alleged footage: “For over a year and a half, Gaza has endured bombing by missiles financed through the taxes paid by American citizens. This brutal assault has caused suffering for Gaza’s residences and left its infrastructure in ruin, while the world remains silent.”

She maintained: “However, in just two days, the divine retribution struck the US as a natural disaster consumed an area larger than Gaza itself. This raises a profound question about justice and the consequences of supporting suppression.”

The alleged clip was widely shared by the American star’s fans with pro-Palestinian fans supporting what she was saying, a person wrote: “Americans are also openly saying that the Los Angeles fire is actually God’s punishment and God’s revenge.”

Meanwhile, others said the video was so obvious to be fake and it was generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

What’s the truth behind Taylor Swift’s clip?

After investigating the clip and the way Taylor Swift spoke, it is very obvious that the video was manipulated by some people and that Swfit never said what was allegedly heard in the clip.

In fact, the video is an excerpt from an interview Swift conducted with the famous media personality Jimmy Fallon on his program “The Tonight Show” in 2021, that is, before the war in the Gaza Strip, which broke out in October 2023, actually took place.

In addition, Swift didn’t post anything related to the fires in Los Angeles, California which led to the death of at least 24 people, according to officials in the state. The ongoing fires burned 40,300 acres, according to Cal Fire. Over 12,300 structures were completely destroyed by the blaze in only a few days.
