Blackpink’s Lisa sparks controversy celebrating birthday at transgender club
Korean singer “Lisa” celebrates her birthday at a transgender club, thai rapper, singer, performer, and actor. She is a member of Blackpink, a South Korean girl group that debuted under YG Entertainment in August 2016.
The Blackpink member celebrated her 27th birthday at one of the nightclubs, which was exclusively for transsexuals.
The public was perplexed as to why Lisa chose to throw her birthday celebration in a special club for transgender people, and some made stunning and unexpected assumptions about Lisa’s gender identity, while others questioned her intentions.
Some, however, believed that her celebration in a particular club for trans people should not be interpreted as an indication or suspicion and that it could simply be her desire to spend time in a different setting.
Earlier, several rumours circulated regarding the Korean artist’s relationship with BTS member “Jin,” but the couple stayed mute and chose not to reply to the news.
Lisa made her solo music debut in September 2021 with her single album Lalisa, becoming the first female artist to sell 736,000 copies of an album in its first week in South Korea. The music video for its debut single, which has the same name, became the most-viewed music video by a solo artist on YouTube in the first 24 hours of release. Both “Lalisa” and the album’s viral second single “Money” peaked at number ten on the Billboard Global 200, with the latter becoming the longest-charting song by a female K-pop artist both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. Lalisa and “Money” became the first albums and songs by a K-pop solo artist to receive one billion Spotify streams, respectively. Lisa founded Lloud Management in February 2024.
