Barbie star Margot Robbie to make ‘The Sims’ movie!

Australian actress and film producer Margot Robbie who’s starred in many well-known movies such as The Wolf of Wall Street, Suicide Squad, and the recent Barbie movie is set to produce a movie about the long-running and beloved game The Sims. 

When the news made headlines across news outlets, social media platforms got flooded with fans from both sides showing their excitement for the upcoming project under Margot’s LuckyChap production company.

According to The Wrap, Journalist Kristen Lopez stated that the movie will be directed by Kate Herron who worked on Disney+’s excellent Loki series and will co-write the film with Briony Redman. Next to Margot Robbie, Josey McNamara and Tom Ackerl will also help in production including Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee.

The deal comes in Barbie’s huge box-office success next to Cristopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer who recently won countless Oscars. The Barbie movie garnered more than $1.4 billion making it the most profitable Warner Bros. movie in its history!

From its name, The Sims is a simulation game that allows players to live a life where they can build, and customize their own homes, make a family, and bring kids. The game which was first released sold millions and millions of units making it one of the most popular and profitable franchises in the gaming industry.
