BRO begins filming with Can Yaman and Giovanni Nasta

Can Yaman and Giovanni Nasta have officially begun filming BRO, the new Prime Video comedy that brings the two actors together once again.

The eight-episode series is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Lux Vide, with filming taking place in Rome. Riccardo Donna and Tobia Campana are directing the project, which is set to be released exclusively on Prime Video worldwide.

Can Yaman Takes on a Different Role

Yaman will play Riccardo Ridolfi, a talented lawyer who works at his family’s law firm. Despite being successful professionally, Riccardo’s personal life takes a difficult turn following a painful romantic disappointment.

The role represents a noticeable change for Yaman, who has recently been seen in physically demanding and more heroic roles, including Sandokan.

The actor previously explained that he wanted his next project to be something completely different. He said he did not want to immediately play another “hero” or traditionally cool character and instead wanted to explore comedy and show a more ironic side of himself.

Yaman also revealed that the character would allow him to improvise in Italian, something he said he had done frequently while working in Turkey but had found more difficult in Italy.

Giovanni Nasta Plays His Half-Brother

Nasta stars opposite Yaman as Nicola Ridolfi, Riccardo’s half-brother.

The two men could hardly be more different. Riccardo is the brilliant lawyer of the family firm, while Nicola is presented as an unlikely but naturally charismatic man who has an easy way of connecting with people.

When unexpected circumstances put the family law firm at risk, the two half-brothers are forced to work together. Their professional partnership quickly becomes complicated as they deal with family tensions, romantic problems and their very different personalities.

The series is described by Prime Video as a buddy comedy with romantic elements, following the brothers as they gradually discover what it really means to trust one another.

A Reunion for Can Yaman and Giovanni Nasta

BRO also marks another collaboration between Yaman and Nasta.

The actors previously worked together on Viola come il mare, where Yaman played Francesco Demir and Nasta was part of the cast. Their reunion in BRO now places them at the center of a completely different type of story.

Nasta is also credited as the creator of the original idea for BRO. He worked on the script alongside Mary Stella Brugiati, Alessandro Bosi and Silvia Leuzzi.

Prime Video has confirmed that BRO will consist of eight episodes and will be available exclusively on the streaming service worldwide. However, an exact premiere date has not yet been announced.

Production information lists the Rome shoot as running through early October, while recent behind-the-scenes reports show that filming has continued with Yaman already appearing in character as Riccardo.

For Yaman, the project comes at an interesting point in his career. After the international attention surrounding Sandokan, he is now taking on a lighter role that allows him to explore comedy, family dynamics and a less familiar side of his acting.

With filming now underway, fans will have to wait for the first official footage before seeing how Yaman and Nasta’s new brotherly partnership translates to the screen.
