Egypt sentences Sarah Khalifa and 11 others to death over drug charges
An Egyptian court sentenced popular TV presenter Sarah Khalifa and 11 others to death following their involvement in an organized drug trafficking and manufacturing gang, official media confirmed late Saturday.
39-year-old Sarah Khalifa is best known for her TV show “Mission Impossible,” which discussed security and crime issues in Egypt. The famous TV presenter also owns a cosmetic surgery clinic and an event planning company.

According to The Guardian, citing Al-Ahram newspaper, a Cairo court sentenced “Khalifa and 11 other defendants to death by hanging on charges of forming an organised criminal gang specialising in procuring materials used in manufacturing narcotics, with the intent to traffic them, and possessing and carrying unlicensed firearms and ammunition.”
In 2025, Khalifa was arrested over drug trafficking charges, with local sources claiming that the Egyptian star turned her home into a hub for mass drug deliveries. Over time, Sarah Khalifa’s reputation in illegal drug smuggling rose, garnering several frequent clients along the way.
The TV presenter turned influencer is also well known on social media, with over 2 million followers on Instagram. However, according to Instagram, the star has not posted there since April 2025, following her arrest.
She has also been arrested for sexually assaulting a young man and filming him naked in her bedroom in her apartment, supposedly to get him to confess to giving information on a big drug case. 27 others were also involved in beating, torturing, and filming the man.
