GWAR band rebuked for beheading Elon Musk, murdering Trump effigies

A heavy metal band was rebuked during their last appearance at Riot Fest in Chicago, Illinois, as they simulated the bloody disembowelling of U.S. President Donald Trump and the beheading of Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

During the festival on Sept. 20, the GWAR band brought two effigies, one for Elon Musk and another for U.S. leader Donald Trump and on stage, they beheaded the Musk effigy and murdered Donald Trump while people were heard cheering.

The act aligns with GWAR’s 40-year tradition of theatrical violence against political figures from both parties, as they have previously done similar stuff to the statues of Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden.

The American heavy metal band was widely criticized as people slammed GWAR and accused its members of “normalizing violence.”

A person wrote on X, “This is incitement. They know exactly what they’re doing.”

Another defended the band, saying, “They do this with every president; here they had Joe Biden sniffing a child before dismemberment on stage. They have even done it with Kamala.”

On the other hand, an X user commented, “It’s Gwar. Love you guys, but you’re uncultured swine for this one”.
