Shawn Mendes opens up about his relationship with Camila Cabello after their breakup

 After dating Camila Cabello from 2019 to 2021, Shawn Mendes is now speaking up about his feelings for her. They had a short affair in 2023 after their breakup.

Shawn’s recent appearance as a podcast guest on Jay Shetty’s show, where he talked about his breakup with Camila and how they maintained a “special little flame of love for each other,” confirms that they’re still friendly despite their breakup.

After some of the meeting’s remarks went viral online, Shawn took to social media to set the record straight.

Before acknowledging that the abundance of expectations surrounding his relationship with Camila fuelled his reaction during the show, he stated that he hoped to provide some clarity on their current status.

However, he called his relationship with Camila “wild,” and they’ve opted to keep in touch as friends rather than get married.

“Love is a lot, but partnership is more than just love, and I think it has a lot to do with how you support each other in your day-to-day life and are really honest about who you are,” he says.

Shawn said that he and Camila still contact sometimes, even though they are no longer his girlfriends.

“As long as we’re good, all the rumors are just noise,” he added, emphasizing that they are cautious while discussing each other in the media and sincerely respect one another. He concluded by saying, “I’m lucky that she’s an amazing person, and she’s incredibly understanding and caring.”

Their relationship wasn’t right, and Camila had already said as much in a statement.

Shawn reacted to a fan’s social media post after the episode’s publication that read, “They’re not playing on each other,” with the response, “No, we’re not.”

Shawn concluded by saying, “I really care about having a real relationship with you guys, and all the rest is just noise.”
