Touching farewell to Emirati who drowned after saving brother from death

In the city of Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, an emotional farewell was held on Monday as the community said their goodbyes to the brave Emirati, Suleiman Abdullah Al Shamsi. Suleiman tragically lost his life while he rescued his younger brother from the waters in a deep valley.

A large gathering of family, friends, and well-wishers gathered at the Umm Ghafa cemetery post-noon prayer to mourn the very sudden and tragic loss of the young Emirati man.

According to local reports, Suleiman and his younger brother were exploring the valley, which was witnessing flow due to the recent rains, when the unfortunate incident happened. His younger brother slipped and fell into a deep hole known for its swift water currents.

Without hesitation, Suleiman leaped into action, rescuing his sibling from the rushing waters. Tragically, he was unable to save himself after that, and his lifeless body was found and recovered later.

Among the outpouring of condolences on social media, one blogger praised Suleiman’s sacrifice, praying for forgiveness and mercy upon him. Many others also expressed solidarity with the grieving family, while also urging others to be mindful of safety warnings during rough weather conditions.

While it may be tempting to some to explore post-rain landscapes, one needs to stay careful at all costs as all it could take is one wrong step taken for things to go wrong. If the risk was too high, it might not even be worth it to begin with.
