American actor and comedian Jack Black took the internet by storm after showing up in the corner of Stephen Thompson (Aka Wonderboy) in UFC 296!
This got people on X (formerly Twitter) jokingly calling for Jack Black to join the UFC as a fighter and saying it’s “impossible to lose with the legendary Jack Black in your corner.”
Black wasn’t the only well-known figure to show up at UFC 296 as his duo from their rock band Tenacious D, Kyle Gass was also on his side. Additionally, ex-US president Donald Trump, Mario Lopez, Kid Rock, Dana White,
and many more also showed up.
Jack was seen giving Wonderboy some encouraging words before heading into the ring in a video shared on X. By the time of writing this article, his name is trending on the platform as he shocked everyone by making an appearance there with his fellow band duo.
Jack Black on Wonderboy’s side
Even with Black’s encouraging and inspirational words, Thompson the Wonderboy, unfortunately, lost the fight against Kazakh fighter Shavkat Rakhmonov in a submission with a score of 18-0-0. Jack was seen later sharing a moment with Thompson after his loss as they hugged it out and talked together slightly.
Jack Black is the Kung Fu Panda!
Users took to X to compare Black to his iconic voiced character, Kung Fu Panda and jokingly added that he will take revenge for Thompson after losing against Rakhmonov.
It comes as no one’s surprise that Black voices Po from Kung Fu Panda, as he’s done such an iconic and spectacular job with DreamWorks’ beloved character. Fans of the animation would be glad to know that the movie is coming back with a sequel on March 8, 2024, under the name of “Kun Fu Panda 4.”
The synopsis according to Google:
“Po must train a new warrior when he’s chosen to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. However, when a powerful shape-shifting sorceress sets her eyes on his Staff of Wisdom, he suddenly realizes he’s going to need some help.”
