The final ruling has been issued in the case of Kuwaiti fashionista Fatima Al-Momen, today, Wednesday.
The Kuwaiti Misdemeanor Court decided to imprison Fatima Al-Momen for 3 years and withdraw her driving license for a year. After she was accused of manslaughter and running a red light in a traffic accident that killed two people.
The ruling comes after the court rejected Fatima’s lawyer’s request to release her on bail, on September 27, and decided to continue her detention and postpone the case until today, October 25.
Fatima Al-Momen case details
The case dates back to the dawn of Thursday, August 24, when a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Al-Soor Street and King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road in Kuwait, resulting in the death of 2 people and the survival of two others.
Several days afterward, Kuwaiti authorities revealed the individual responsible for the incident as Fatima Al-Momen and took her into custody for further investigation.
Fatima Al-Momen faced a total of 10 charges, including accusations of manslaughter, unintentional harm, driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, surpassing the speed limit, and running a red light.
The charges encompassed additional offenses such as reckless driving, operating a vehicle without valid insurance, driving without a proper vehicle license, damaging the property of others, and causing damage to public property.

Fatima Al-Momen is a 30-year-old Kuwaiti architect, beauty expert, and fashion blogger. She is considered among the most famous influential Arab figures in the world of beauty and elegance, since the beginning of her career in 2014.
Fatima was born in the State of Kuwait, and after completing high school, she traveled to the United States where she studied architecture, and later joined the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the engineering program to work in Chicago.
Fatima returned to settle in Kuwait, and worked as an architect in the private sector for two years. During this time, she began to become very active in the field of fashion, beauty and style, becoming one of the most important fashion bloggers in the Arab world.
