Warner Bros. wants to transform its biggest franchises into games
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said that they are aiming to turn their biggest franchises into live service games following the launch of Gotham Knights.
During a call with Seeking Alpha, Zaslav said that they want to make franchises such as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and DC with a focus on Batman and Mortal Kombat into live-service games which are all billion-dollar franchises.
Zaslav also added that their focus is on having these franchises run from three to four-year release schedules to keep the live-service formula intact and offer multiplatform and free-to-play options with the goal of introducing more players.

Warner Bros. published one of the best games of 2023, the famous Hogwarts Legacy by Avalanche Software which was so excellent that we platinumed it on PS5!
Hogwarts Legacy is an RPG developed by Avalanche Software that launched in February 2023 where players get to experience what it’s like to be a Hogwarts Witch and Wizard.
In Hogwarts Legacy, players get to explore every nook and canny of Hogwarts in the 1800s and the vast world surrounding it while an ancient secret threatens to tear the wizarding world apart.
The title rose to the best-selling charts by selling a whopping 12 million copies in the first two weeks and topped $1 billion in retail sales.
Gotham Knights on the other hand did poorly since the game was not on par in quality with Batman’s Arkham series by Rocksteady.
