Video: Sharjah Customs Thwarts Smuggling Attempt with Unusual Concealment
The Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zones Authority successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle two individuals concealed in the rear of a vehicle into the UAE on Monday.
The authority revealed that the smuggling bid was disrupted at one of its customs terminals during an inspection of two vehicles utilizing state-of-the-art X-ray scanners, which detected suspicious objects in the vehicles.
The vigilant inspection officers, through proactive follow-up and constant vigilance, were able to apprehend the individuals concealed in each car.
A video circulating on X showcased customs officials dismantling the rear bumpers of both cars, ultimately revealing the hidden men within.
This incident underscores the crucial role of advanced inspection technologies and the dedication of customs officials in ensuring the security and integrity of the country’s borders.
The authority disclosed that the two infiltrators were found hiding in professionally installed iron boxes under the rear trunks of the vehicles, emphasizing the sophisticated nature of the concealment.
