Taylor Swift is known to have garnered quite a fanbase (Swifties) who would stand by her side no matter what, so it’s natural that they took to the pop star’s defense after Grohl’s remarks about Swift not singing live during her concerts.

Grohl also stated that since the Foo Fighters play live, it’s expected that there will be room for error whether it’s from the vocal side or the instruments side.

Several Swifties added:

“For someone who told multiple times the story about her “saving him from embarrassment” cause she could play piano and he didn’t in Paul McCartney’s house this is very bold but also very unnecessary comment,” following a video of Dave Grohl on a talk show telling the story.

“Once again men bashing Taylor for literally no reason she didn’t do anything wrong and they feel the need to talk about her.”

On the other hand, many took to Dave Grohl’s defense:

“Dave Grohl has done more for music than Taylor Swift ever will, trust me,” after a fan of Swift said to “Trust them that nobody knows him.”

“I think he was just taking the piss because they’re friends.”

One user added that Grohl’s remarks about Swift came in defense of his daughter who judged Taylor Swift for overusing her private jet.

Grohl’s daughter Violet who was 17 at the time judged Swift which resulted in many ‘Swifties’ bullying on social media. Moreover, after receiving much hate, she doubled down on the judgment but later deactivated her account since things spun out of control.
