American pop star Taylor Swift is the talk of social media after responding to the recent Southport attack which resulted in the killing of three children and injuring of nine during a dance class featuring her songs and style.
She took to her official Instagram and posted on her story, “The horrors of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m completely in shock…”
She added, “These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

Following a tragic mass stabbing in Southport, Northern England, the death toll has climbed to 3, as it was announced earlier today that a 9-year-old girl succumbed to her wounds.
The Merseyside Police reported that two other girls, aged 6 and 7, died yesterday. Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said two children were killed in a “ferocious attack”. She added that nine others were injured, including six left in critical condition.
Some users judged Taylor Swift for bringing this incident up and not the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza that resulted in the killing of thousands of children across the strip. Moreover, many of her fans asked Swift multiple times about speaking up since Oct. 7, 2023, but she never responded.
Pro-Palestine users took to social media and voiced their opinions about the matter:
“She can speak up about this but not about the genocide in Gaza?”
“I gotta say, that if she can speak up about this, she can speak up about Palestine. Yeah, one kid got killed in Southport but what about thousands and thousands of them that got killed in Palestine? Isn’t that more worrying?”
