Squid Game season 3 will pick up from where season 2 left off, right after ‘Young-il’ betrayed his armed rebellion group by killing two allied players, executing those who surrendered, and then proceeded to kill Gi-hun’s best friend, Jung-bae, in front of his eyes.
While Gi-hun is yet to learn that his new “friend” Young-il is none other than the notorious masked Front Man (Hwang In-ho), fans hope that his identity is revealed at the beginning of season 3.
A fan wrote on social media, “It will be interesting to see how Gi-hun picks himself up after experiencing such a traumatic event, especially after finding out that Young-il is the Front Man and is the culprit behind killing his best friend.”
This will be the third and final season of Netflix’s beloved K-drama.
If you are searching for something to scratch the itch for dystopian survival thriller shows, we highly recommend giving Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga ‘Alice in Borderland’ a watch. It’s as gripping and intense as Squid Game and offers enough differences to make it stand out from similar shows in the genre.
