Sinatra’s symphony: Martin Scorsese’s cinematic legend unveiled with DiCaprio leading
There seems to be exciting news in the world of film, as 81-year-old worldwide filmmaker Martin Scorsese is getting ready to release a biographical picture of the legendary Frank Sinatra. This comes after rumours and stories started circulating in newspapers.
Variety magazine reports that Martin Scorsese intends to cast 49-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio as the legendary musician Frank Sinatra in a future movie.
Fans of Martin Scorsese may have felt a little bit of déjà vu when Variety exclusively revealed that the Oscar-winning filmmaker is preparing to shoot two projects back-to-back, one of which is a biopic of Frank Sinatra. The other is a Jesus film, the director’s second, following “The Last Temptation of Christ” in 1988. For Scorsese, however, the Sinatra biography has long been a sort of white whale.
Scorsese is eyeing Leonardo DiCaprio, a longtime inspiration, to play the crooner in his Sinatra film. Jennifer Lawrence, the actor’s co-star in “Don’t Look Up,” will portray Ava Gardner, the renowned Hollywood actress who played a crucial role in Scorsese’s “The Aviator,” which Kate Beckinsale portrayed. According to reports, Sony is the front-runner to take on the project, which Scorsese attempted to start some years ago but was unable to complete.
Not only that, but rumors are also making the rounds that Jennifer Lawrence, 33, would play Sinatra’s second wife, Ava Gardner.
