Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly on suicide watch in jail following racketeering and sex trafficking charges
Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is facing allegations of racketeering and sex trafficking, is now “on suicide watch” in jail until his trial.
On Monday evening, September 16, police detained 54-year-old Combs at a Manhattan hotel. The next day, the unsealed indictment revealed his charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to participate in prostitution.
He pleaded not guilty and was refused bail twice this week before being remanded to MDC on Tuesday, Sept. 17. We don’t know how long Combs has been on suicide watch or whether he is suicidal. Sources inform people that Combs is in a state of shock and his mental condition is uncertain, suggesting that this is a precautionary measure.
Said the United States Department of Justice’s National Institute of Corrections”supervisory precautions taken for suicidal inmates that require frequent observation.”
Marc Agnifilo, Combs’s attorney, petitioned the judge to send the music mogul to a jail in Essex County, New Jersey, during a court session. Finally, the judge charged the Bureau of Prisons with making the determination.
Many of the 1,600 detainees at MDC are awaiting trial, and the prison has a terrible reputation for safety, chronic understaffing, and a high suicide and mortality rate. Lawyers for Combs said in a plea to release him on bond that “several courts in this district have recognized that the conditions at Metropolitan Detention Center are not fit for pre-trial detention,” as reported by The Daily Beast.
According to the allegations, he used his notoriety and power, along with substances such as oxycodone, cocaine, and ketamine, to force and threaten women into joining the “freakoffs.” Reports also indicated that the victims were unaware of the occasional video recordings of the “freak-offs.” In March, federal officials raided his houses in Miami and Los Angeles, where they took 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant, as well as three AR-15 firearms.
