Mark Ruffalo: Palestinians are not buildings or roads

American actor Mark Ruffalo, best known for his role as The Incredible Hulk in Marvel’s Avengers, took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) to voice his stance with the Palestinian people in Gaza.

He took to his official X account and confronted the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu because he referred to the Palestinians as  ‘Collateral Damage’ as Israel bombs and destroys Gaza.

Mark Ruffalo: Have some compassion, Palestinians are not buildings or roads

He stated in his post the following as he referred to an article on Huff Post by Sanjana Karanth:

“No. Sorry. They are not “collateral damage” they are human beings who happen to have been born there and live there and most of those human beings are stuck there. Have some compassion, they are Palestinians not buildings or roads or things, they are human beings and so are the hostages whose lives you may also be destroying. They aren’t “collateral damage” either.”

This is not the first time Mark Ruffalo has taken a stance with the Palestinian people as he showed compassion to them in the incident that took place in Sheikh Jarrah, Jerusalem.

In 2021, tensions were at a time high in Sheikh Jarrah as the Israeli settler’s attacks intensified threatening to take over houses all over the neighborhood which sparked outrage among Palestinians and pro-Palestine activists all over the globe.

Since the war on Gaza, millions of people around the world have taken to the streets in protest for the Palestinian people, but no ceasefire was agreed upon by the warring parties.

Palestine has been under the occupation of Israel since 1948 in what people call to this day, “Al Nakba” (The Catastrophe) resulting in countless deaths of the Palestinian people who are still suffering from the occupation to this day.

Hamas launched on Oct. 7, 2023, a military operation called “Al-Aqsa Flood” against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

The Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip capturing military bases and taking hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
