Saudi vessel sustains minor hull damage after Red Sea attack: SPA

A Saudi vessel, NCC MASA, sustained minor hull damage after it was attacked while sailing in the Red Sea on Friday, Saudi state news agency SPA reported, citing an official source at the General Transport Authority.

The vessel continued to its destination after checks confirmed it and its crew were safe, SPA said.

No side claimed the attack, but US President Donald Trump said on Thursday he would hold Iran accountable for any attacks by Yemen’s Houthi militants. That came after another Saudi-owned vessel, the ENCELIA, was targeted while sailing in the Red Sea this week, resulting in a fire at the bow of the vessel.

“If they do this again, the US will hold Iran responsible, in that the Houthis are a Surrogate and/or Proxy of Iran, and major military punishment will be inflicted upon Iran and, of course, the Houthis, themselves,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
