Ronaldo’s Al Nassr powers past Al Ettifaq 3-1 in Saudi Pro League

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a penalty as Al Nassr cruised to a 3-1 win over Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League on Friday in Riyadh.

It was another former Manchester United star, defender Alex Telles, who opened the scoring for Al Nassr when he scored with a spectacular volley from 25 meters past Al Ettifaq keeper Paulo Victor in the 43rd minute.

Al Nassr doubled their lead in the 59th minute from midfielder Marcelo Brozovic’s first SPL goal after he was set up by Ronaldo.

The Portuguese star put the match out of reach in the 73rd minute when he converted a penalty following an Al Ettifaq defender handling in the area.

Mohammed al-Kuwaykibi pulled a goal back six minutes from time for Al Ettifaq but they would get no closer as Al Nassr closed out the 3-1 win to move into second place in the standings ten points behind leaders Al Hilal.
