Prince William shares a rare glimpse of family life: Orla the cocker spaniel sleeps in their bed

Prince William recently shared a rare glimpse into their home life, revealing that their dog, Orla, often shares their bed.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are very concerned about maintaining the privacy of their family at their home in Adelaide Cottage, where they have resided for more than two years with their three children, Prince George, who is eleven years old, Princess Charlotte, who is nine years old, and Prince Louis, who is six years old, which includes their cherished Cocker Spaniel, Orla.

Despite the fact that public events rarely reveal their private lives, Prince William recently provided a rare insight into his and Kate’s sleeping schedule.

The Prince and Princess of Wales live in the five-bedroom mansion known as Kensington Palace, situated on the grounds of Windsor Castle. In the course of his visit to Datchy College in Cornwall, England, Prince William disclosed to the individuals who were there that he and Kate often share the bed with their dog, Orla.

A supporter of the royal family named Louise Harland, who had a conversation with Prince William, shared the following information with Hits Radio Cornwall: “[William] admitted that his little dog sleeps in the bed with them at night, with Kate.” He has a strong affection for my tiny puppy.

“He asked what breed it was, and he’s never met a dog of that breed before, so it’s a bit of a unique mix.” Orla rarely joins the future King and Queen on royal engagements, but in 2022, she posed for a photo with Princess Charlotte to celebrate the latter’s birthday.

During the previous year, cameras caught Orla alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales at a bowling competition. “Golden princess” is the literal translation of the name Orla, which carries with it a royal connotation.

The family has had a dog named Lobby in the past, and Middleton’s brother James gave it to them as a wedding gift in 2011. Orla is not the family’s first pet. In November of 2020, Lobby passed away at the age of nine.
