Nancy Mace calls Bella Hadid “a disgusting human being” amid Palestine map photo

Palestinian-American fashion model Bella Hadid recently sparked debate across social media after sharing a picture of herself next to a large map of Palestine, alongside a series of other photos showcasing her recent outdoor activities.

Captioned, “lately forever grateful,” the Instagram post provoked United States Representative Nancy Mace who took to Musk’s X (formerly known as Twitter) calling Bella Hadid “a disgusting human being.”

The hateful comment was quickly condemned by several pro-Palestine users on the platform who took to Bella Hadid’s defense.

An X user wrote, “Bella Hadid is simply holding up a map of Palestine before the U.N. created Israel.”

Another added, “What kind of a human being gets triggered by a Palestinian showing their country’s original map — its name was “Palestine” — before it was stolen from them by a Jewish supremacist state?”

Bella Hadid has always been vocal about her Palestinian background and has recently donated $1 million to groups aiding Palestinians during the 15-month war in Gaza. According to Business Insider, the donation included groups such as Heal Palestine, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and World Central Kitchen.

She also recently made an Instagram post captioned, “The roots in the ground, the roots in our blood, the roots of our hearts, the roots of Palestinian culture, bloodlines, and history—these are deep roots. Roots that no one, ever, can take away. No matter the power, the money, or the person.”

Israel’s aggression on Gaza during the 15 months resulted in the killing of at least 48,000 Palestinians and injuring more than 110,000, according to the Ministry of Health. Additionally, the UN claims that the war also caused at least 50 million tonnes of rubble which is roughly 12 times the size of Egypt’s Pyramids of Giza.
