‘Love is Blind, Habibi’: Netflix’s hit reality show is coming to Dubai
Netflix is bringing ‘Love is Blind’ to the UAE, with a new Dubai-based version of the hit reality show.
The Middle Eastern version, titled Love is Blind, Habibi, will be hosted by famous Saudi couple Elham Ali and Khaled Saqr and is set to debut on the streaming platform later this year.
The show will see single Arabs try to find a match and fall in love without ever seeing each other face-to-face – putting emotional connections to the test without the influence of physical appearances.
The series follows 15 men and 15 women as they embark on a journey to find love. The participants are only allowed to communicate with each other through purpose built “pods” preventing them from seeing each other.
They engage in multiple speed-dating sessions for ten days. If sparks fly, they have the opportunity to propose – allowing them to meet in person for the first time.
In the original series, the engaged couples are then sent off to a romantic retreat at a luxurious resort where they can begin to deepen their connection.
After the retreat, their love is then put to the ultimate test when they return back to their normal lives and meet each other’s families and friends, and are forced to address the realities of life with topics like finances, hobbies and habits, and future living arrangements.
If their love is able to overcome the challenges of the real world, they then head to the altar to tie the knot.
The show already has six international versions in addition to its original US version, which are Brazil, the UK, Japan, Sweden, Germany, and Argentina.
