Kevin Durand inspired by Elon Musk for his antagonist role ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ pre-release hype
The latest entry in the Apes series, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, stars Kevin Durand as the antagonist, Proximus Caesar.
Elon Musk is another famous person whose manners are similar to Durand’s. In a podcast interview with Inside Total Film, Durand said that his character emulates the tech mogul in certain ways.
“It’s fantastic!” “They still compare me to Elon Musk, even with my bonobosque face,” he pointed out. The number of times Elon Musk gets me is ridiculous; it’s funny. When fans approach me, it’s clear it’s about more than simply meeting an actor they look up to. Even when I’m behaving crazily, it comes through!
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the first Apes feature under the Disney dynasty, is producing an estimated $21-22 million in pre-release sales at 4,075 theaters. We anticipate an opening weekend of $52–$55 million. About fifty million dollars was the reported sum.
The premiere occurs around the same time as the first two installments of the 2011 and 2017 trilogy, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes, respectively, which took place in the previous century. War earned $56.2M in three days and $22.1M on Friday, while Rise earned $19.5M in one day and $54.8M in total. At this very moment, 82% of RT viewers share this opinion.
