With Beyoncé copping the album of the year at the 2025 Grammys due to her album ‘COWBOY CARTER,’ American rapper Kendrick Lamar recently made headlines after his viral song ‘Not Like Us’ was crowned both song of the year and record of the year.
Moreover, Chappell Roan received the best new artist award after releasing her song ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ which rose to the charts granting her more than a billion streams on Spotify.

Upon receiving the award, Kendrick Lamar dedicated his win to his hometown Los Angeles, due to the horrific wildfires the city witnessed across its premises. He said after accepting the award at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, “We’re going to dedicate this one to the city.”
He added, “This is my neck of the woods that held me down since a young pup, since I was in the studio scrapping to write the best raps and all that… I can’t give enough thanks to these places that I rolled around since high school. Most importantly the people and the families out in the Palisades and Altadena. This is a true testament that we can continue to restore the city.”
The rapper’s song was also crowned best rap performance, best rap song, and best music video further showcasing the impact ‘Not Like Us’ had on the rap industry and scene. According to some videos circulating online, the audience at the Crypto.com Arena was heard singing to Kendrick’s song after he copped the win.
Additionally, renowned pop star Taylor Swift was spotted dancing to the song, making her go viral on social media platforms such as Musk’s X (formerly known as Twitter).
