Justin Bieber wears Keffiyeh to show of solidarity with Palestine amid Gaza conflict

Canadian musician Justin Bieber has been blasted online for wearing a keffiyeh after he was pictured leaving the Château Marmont.

The pop artist, who was close with problematic tycoon Diddy when he was a teenager, looked dapper in a Heather Gray hooded sweatshirt and what looked like a red-and-white keffiyeh around his head.

A symbol of Palestinian unity, defiance, and perseverance, the keffiyeh is a checkered cloth.

Pro-Palestine protesters have been seen wearing scarves for the past year as they demand an end to the Israeli-Gaza conflict.

In the midst of Israel’s year-long onslaught on Gaza, the singer chooses to wear the patterned outfit as a statement of solidarity with Palestine.

Nearly immediately after Hamas’ strike on October 7, 2023, Bieber shared—and then removed—a post supporting Israel. Since then, he has mostly been quiet about the bombardment.

Although the number does not distinguish between civilians and combatants, the Gaza Ministry of Health reports that more than 41,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli bombardment as of October 3.

On the other hand, out of the 41,788 casualties, approximately 16,500 were young people. The number of wounded has increased to 96,794.

Justin drove his massive Tesla Cybertruck out of the Chateau Marmont on his own.

Some others thought the keffiyeh was just a fashion accessory and not a sign of his support for Palestine; some even questioned his understanding of the garment’s symbolic meaning.

A social media commenter pointed out that he needed to do more than just wear a keffiyeh to compensate for the “prayer for Israel” post.
