Jessica Chastain Slams Katy Perry’s All-Female Space Flight as “Defeat of American Feminism”

Jessica Chastain criticizes Katy Perry’s all-female Blue Origin space flight.
The most recent Hollywood star to openly criticize Katy Perry’s space flight with an all-female crew on the Blue Origin rocket is Jessica Chastain.
The all-female Blue Origin space expedition launched by Katy Perry has failed. The singer went on an 11-minute space voyage earlier this week with Lauren Sanchez, TV host Gayle King, film producer Kerianne Flynn, NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, and civil rights activist and research scientist Amanda Nguyen.
However, a number of Hollywood celebrities, including Olivia Wilde, Amy Schumer, and Emily Ratajkowski, criticized the change as being out of style. Actress Jessica Chastain has joined that group, calling the trip an “utter defeat of American feminism” in an opinion article she shared. ‘Send Katy Perry back to space’: Olivia Munn, Emily Ratajkowski, and Wendy’s lead eyeroll marathon on the singer’s space journey are also worth reading.
What Jessica Chastain disclosed
The Guardian published an opinion piece titled “Opinion | The Blue Origin flight showcased the utter defeat of American feminism—The Guardian,” which Jessica shared on her X account. Even though the actor did not write the essay, it was evident how she felt about it because she shared it with her almost one million followers.
According to an excerpt from the article, “The majority of the crew’s self-presentation and promotion of the flight has relied heavily on a vision of women’s empowerment that is heavy on a childlike, girlish silliness and light on substance, insulting women by casually linking their gender with superficiality, vanity, and unseriousness.”
Other celebrities have been very critical of the Blue Origin space venture. Actress Emily Ratajkowski had already expressed her “disgust” with the mission, and Olivia Munn had remarked that flying was “a bit gluttonous.”
Katy used the Blue Origin rocket to livestream her space voyage. About eleven minutes passed throughout the flight. The singer returned to Earth safely, along with five other women. Katy later discussed the event, stating that she felt “so connected to love” and “super connected to life.”
