Fatima Al Momen sentenced to prison as final verdict
Kuwaiti fashionista Fatima Al Momen made headlines after being sentenced to prison as a final verdict for manslaughter while driving despite an appeal made.
The Kuwaiti court sentenced Fatima Al Momen to three years of prison on Sunday, Jul. 21, 2024, with the addition of hard labor.
Moreover, her driver’s license was confiscated and will be fined a total of 15 Kuwaiti dinars for driving above the speed limit and cutting off a red light sign which resulted in the death of two people.

Kuwaiti Laywer Mushari Al Tawil took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote:
“After issuing a final ruling against Fatima. We have concluded our closing argument before the criminal court. Therefore, we call on the executive authority to enact a law that protects the rights of individuals and change the poor traffic law that does not fit the reality of the situation. This is a message to every reckless person to be aware that people’s lives are not subject to bargaining.”
One week after the accident, Kuwaiti police released a shocking video of the accident which occurred on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at 3:17 AM at an intersection in the country, which resulted in 10 charges made against Fatima including manslaughter, injury by mistake, driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and exceeding the speed limit.
