Emma Stone dances on Cannes red carpet, receives 4.5-minute standing ovation for ‘Kinds of Kindness’ premiere

 In a Louis Vuitton ensemble, Emma Stone turned heads on Friday afternoon at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in 2024.

People started sharing footage of her dancing with the actors from her film Kinds of Kindness, along with her appearance.

Everyone started dancing their hearts out on the red carpet as photographers snapped images of her and her film crew.

Producers Ed Guiney, Kasia Maliban, and Andrew Lowe were also there, in addition to Jesse’s wife, Kirsten Dunst, director Yorgos Lanthimos, and themselves.

Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos’s “Kind of Kindness” is making its triumphant return to the official Cannes Film Festival competition less than a year after his critically acclaimed first feature, “Poor Things,” took the world by storm.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ anthology film “Kinds of Kindness,” starring Emma Stone, stunned the Cannes Film Festival audience on Friday night with its themes of sex cults, cannibalism, and general excess.

Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, and Joe Alwyn were among the cast members that left the theater during the 4.5-minute standing ovation that Lanthimos’ sequel to “Poor Things” received. Each of the three tales told in “Kinds of Kindness” features a different cast member. Some audience members chose to leave at the Cannes premiere, with the majority of those leaving during the film’s more graphic second act. As soon as the applause ceased, Lanthimos bolted from the screening and avoided eye contact with the spectators.
