Eminem drops new single “Houdini” featuring his kids from upcoming album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)”

With the release of “Houdini,” the first song off his forthcoming 12th album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” Eminem is offering his fans a sneak peek at what’s to come this summer.

Hailie Jade, Marshall Mathers’ daughter, is well-known to his fans because she has been a constant in his music and appears on more than 20 songs. Many songs, including “Mockingbird” (2004), have mentioned Alaina, another daughter of Eminem and his ex-wife Kim Scott.

“Houdini,” Eminem’s most recent single, continues this trend by mentioning his children and even including them in the music video. Seeing Hailie, Alaina, and Stevie—Eminem’s third child—in the same photo is a first.

Part of “Houdini” is a throwback to his 2002 track “Without Me,” which included the catchy lyrics, “Guess who’s back, back again, Shady’s back, tell a friend.” Eminem and his longtime collaborator Luis Resto created the song, which has a chorus sample from Steve Miller Band’s “Abracadabra” and a lyric referencing the shooting event involving Megan Thee Stallion. “Would I actually have a chance at a feat if I asked Megan Thee Stallion to collaborate with me?” “I am not sure, but I am happy to be back,” he raps.
