Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning receives opening video

The official YouTube channel for Toei Animation revealed the opening song with an animated video for their upcoming movie, Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning, on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023. 

The video features the movie’s original theme song “Target Akai Shōgeki” by Kouji Wada and showcases characters doing everyday things with their beloved Digimon.

Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning will be set in 2012 and serve as the finale of the Adventure 02 story. Moreover, It will continue from where the first two anime series left off.

Additionally, the movie will get a special program featuring cast members and the film’s first four minutes on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023. The program will be released on YouTube in Japanese and English.

The movie will premiere in the US on Nov. 8-9, 2023 following Japan’s cinema opening on Oct. 27, 2023. The English dub releases on November 8 while the sub releases on November 9.

The cast includes Tomohisa Taguchi as director and Akatsuki Yamatoya as scriptwriter, with both Studio Yumeta and Toei Animation returning from Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna for animation and production.

Digimon first received a TV anime from April 2000 to March 2001. The show became a huge hit among children worldwide and received a total of nine seasons and 16 movies from 1999 to 2020.

The show was specifically popular among children in the Middle East thanks to a kids’ channel known as Spacetoon. Digimon Adventures was fully Arabic-dubbed including its opening and ending songs adding to the already huge fanbase the anime accumulated during the years.

Fun fact: The anime was dubbed “Abtal Al Digital” (أبطال الديجيتال) in Arabic which was totally different from its original name.
