Diddy Transferred to Pennsylvania Prison After Reports of Special Treatment Behind Bars

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved to a new federal prison in Pennsylvania, days after reports about his treatment behind bars and an alleged incident that reportedly left him needing medical attention.

Diddy was transferred from Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low on Friday, October 16, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Officials confirmed his new location but did not explain why the move was made.

Diddy’s spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, said the transfer was between two low-security facilities and described the move as consistent with a decision made with safety and security in mind. He also expressed appreciation for the attention being given to Combs’ well-being.

The Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding the transfer, saying it does not discuss individual prisoners’ conditions of confinement for privacy, safety and security reasons.

Reports About Diddy’s Life Behind Bars

The transfer comes amid reports questioning whether Combs had received special treatment during his time at Fort Dix. NBC News previously reported allegations that he had access to prohibited items, including a cellphone and alcohol, and that other inmates had provided personal services such as cooking and massages. These reports have not been fully addressed publicly by prison officials.

There have also been reports that Combs suffered a head injury during an alleged altercation with another inmate and was taken for medical attention. However, prison officials have not publicly confirmed the reported fight, and the Bureau of Prisons has declined to discuss his individual circumstances. The reported incident should therefore be treated as an allegation, not an established explanation for his transfer.

FCI Allenwood Low is located in Pennsylvania, approximately 155 miles west of New York City. The facility houses around 1,000 inmates, substantially fewer than the more than 4,200 reported across the two campuses at Fort Dix. Despite the change in location, Combs remains in a low-security federal facility.

Why Is Diddy in Prison?

Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after a federal jury convicted him in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy following a high-profile trial in New York. He was sentenced in October 2025.

During the trial, two of his former girlfriends testified about alleged abuse and encounters known as “freak-offs,” involving male escorts. Prosecutors argued that Combs used his wealth, influence and threats of violence to coerce women into unwanted sexual activity. The jury’s verdict, however, distinguished between the charges on which he was convicted and those on which he was acquitted.

Combs has continued to challenge his conviction and sentence. His legal team has asked an appeals court to overturn the convictions and secure his release, but the court has not yet issued a decision.

When Will Diddy Be Released?

According to the latest reports citing federal prison records, Combs’ projected release date is March 2, 2028. That date remains subject to change, depending on the status of his sentence and any further developments in his legal case.

For now, the reason for his transfer to Pennsylvania remains officially undisclosed. His spokesperson has welcomed the emphasis on safety and security, while prison authorities have made clear that they will not discuss the specific circumstances behind the move.
